Syrah, Ibarra-Young Vineyard, 2021
Ibarra-Young Vineyard
Los Olivos District AVA
Regernative Organic+
Tasting Notes — Invitingly deep, with black currant, purple voilets, and caraway. On their 50th harvest, the low yielding vines provide striking intensity even at a lower ABV. The texture is bright and peppery, a graceful dance of fruit and structure that would age well for many years to come.
Vinification — This half ton of Syrah was picked alongside the growers Alice Anderson and Topher Defelice on September 25, 2021. The fruit came in around 21-22 Brix, was crushed and destemmed, and underwent native fermentation in a 3/4 macrobin which was punched down daily by hand. Pressed and aged in a single neutral French oak barrel for 10 months. Bottles unfiltered and unfined in July 2022.
